Stem Cell Therapy

What is Stem Cell Therapy

Dr. Artamonov and MJA Healthcare Network are pleased to announce a new, cutting edge procedure we are offering to our patients, Bone Marrow Aspiration Therapy. This revolutionary regenerative therapy procedure is an all-natural alternative to surgical intervention.

Using a special device called Marrow Cellution, MJA Healthcare is able to quickly and safely obtain a high quantity of valuable stem cells from the patient’s bone marrow. The stem cells can then be re-administered to the patient, and can be used to prevent, alleviate, or treat a number of injuries and issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bone Marrow Aspirate (BMA) can be directly obtained from bones such as the iliac crest(hip). Bone marrow houses stem cells which can form new cells such as bone, cartilage and muscle.

Once your bone marrow is obtained, your own stem cells are then injected into tendons and ligaments all over your body. Degenerative disc disease, low back pain, sports injuries, arthritic joints and even more specific injuries including ACL and rotator cuff tears all can be treated using BMA injections.

Studies have shown that cortisone injections may actually weaken tissue. Cortisone shots may provide temporary pain relief but do not provide long term healing. Bone Marrow Stem Cell Therapy heals and strengthens these tendons and ligaments.

Most patients notice some level of improvement within 2-6 weeks or sooner. You can expect a decrease in pain and an increase in strength and stability. Most patients require only a single injection of BMA.

To collect the BMA, a special needle is used, which is able to collect a high concentration of stem cells from your marrow.

Stem cell injections may eliminate the need for more aggressive treatments, such as long term medication or surgery, and can facilitate a return to function in patients. If you have an injury and traditional methods have not provided relief then BMA therapy may be the solution.

No. Despite several publications and peer reviewed journals showing the efficacy of BMA, it is not covered by insurance at this time.
